Equestrian

Equestrian is offered by Special Olympics Canterbury using various venues throughout Canterbury. The group meet up at regular intervals for camps at Sandow Riding School.

Equestrian training and competition at Special Olympics includes a number of different levels and events based on the ability of the athlete.

Riders may compete in one level only

• Level A- walk, trot and canter
• Level B – walk, trot
• Level C – walk
• Level BS – supported walk and trot
• Level CS – supported walk

Depending on facilities and rider ability, Special Olympics provides many events including: dressage, equitation, obstacle trails, gymkhana events and prix caprilli (dressage with jumps)
